About Us

Welcome to ICT4D Research Lab

The ICT4D Research Lab, established on July 9th, 2021, stands as a beacon of innovation and research, shining a light on the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to foster sustainable development in developing countries.

Our Origin

We are rooted in the belief that the digital and fourth industrial revolution can contribute meaningfully to solving local, regional, and global sustainable development challenges. Our goal is to leverage the advancements in digital technology to assist impoverished, marginalized, and underprivileged communities in improving their quality of life.

Our Approach

At the core of our operation is the concept of ‘knowledge brokering’ – the exchange of information and knowledge between diverse actors. This philosophy enables us to collaborate with various universities, donors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and research centers both within and outside Tanzania. We believe in fostering a multi-stakeholder approach that matches the multidisciplinary nature of ICT4D and keeps us abreast with rapidly evolving technology.
